Humans
Description
There is little to say about this topic. Humans are widely known to you, reader, even because you are one of them (probably). The difference between the humans of If and the humans of Earth is merely aesthetic. In hot lands they can have reddish, brown or black hair and eyes whose colors vary from golden to brown and almost always have skin that varies from copper to black. In cold lands, their hair can vary from blue to blonde or white and their eye colors are usually cold colors such as blue, white or purple and light skin. It is theorized that such features may be very subtle magical influences from elemental volcanoes.
Human Heritages:
Identical to those presented in the player’s handbook, or choose any of the additional heritages from the world of If:
Fryser Geist’s Blood
Cold Resistance (ex): The icy magic of the polar volcano runs through your veins. You gain cold resistance equal to half your level (minimum 1), and you treat environmental cold effects as if they were one step less extreme (incredible cold becomes extreme, extreme cold becomes severe, and so on).
Kreptar’s Blood
Fire Resistance (ex): The torrid magic of the polar volcano courses through your veins. You gain fire resistance equal to half your level (minimum 1), and you treat environmental heat effects as if they were one step less extreme (incredible heat becomes extreme, extreme heat becomes severe, and so on).
Blood of Hohonu
Child of the waters (ext): you were born in harmony with the aquatic volcano and the waters are your second home. You can hold your breath for a number of rounds equal to twice normal and do not fall unconscious when you run out of air, although you must make Fortitude saves normally each round to avoid taking damage or dying.
Relationship with another species:
Floti: they are so adorable! So little and cute. And they talk so fast! This ability to glide can be useful, or at least very popular at parties.
Magibrutes: deformed and gross beings whose mere existence is a mockery. And they still want to participate in civilization like us humans! At most we will tolerate their presence as pack animals and manual laborers, which is more than they deserve.
Tarkal: I don’t know what the hell this thing is or why it’s talking in my head. It must be too dangerous to show hostility, so perhaps it’s best to keep your distance as much as possible.
Phaemon: what a presence. . . indescribable. They are so graceful and beautiful in a way that makes me uncomfortable. But I just can’t avoid having them around, that is, whenever they want to come, since they are so fickle and unpredictable.
Sandon: how extraordinary! Is this a construct or a person? They are so tireless, they would be excellent workers if they didn’t have such strange and sudden obsessions.
