THE ORIGIN OF GLITCH MUNDI
THE ORIGIN OF GLITCH MUNDI
There are stories that starts at their beginning and others that begin with their own end. In the case of Glitch Mundi, its story begins with the end of one before it. A totally different universe occupied the space that is now filled by this very peculiar world. There is an existential constant: all things die, some much faster than others, of course. Even stars have a limit to their longevity and universes are no exception to this rule.
And that old and tired creation was about to collapse under the weight of its own age. The bones of reality were already fragile and worn. Inevitable fractures appeared in the firmament, the cycle of seasons presented its final throes. The connection between the gods and their priests became weak and intermittent. The deities themselves shared the final agony of the universe they inhabited, no longer demonstrating omnipotence, but fear and apathy. The end was imminent. However, there were those who were unhappy with passively watching the end of everything that exists. And among them, a select group possessing phenomenal powers, capable of performing unattainable feats. This extraordinary team was supported by the Last Conclave, made up of the greatest minds and most powerful arcanists on the planet.
The group was then able to obtain the Primordial Capsule, the potential creator of the becoming of a new, yet unborn existence amidst the void, with the hope of using it to restore vitality to their own dying universe. Armed with such an incomprehensible gift, an unprecedented arcane ritual was orchestrated by the last conclave, using as its driving force all the magical power of a circle of thousands of conjurers, resulting in a single epic incantation that allowed the titanic automaton Terminus to break through the primordial capsule’s casing, releasing all the concentrated power of a nascent universe within its own dying existence. In theory, the spell would also allow the ancient universe to restore its full vitality, draining the infinite potential of the capsule, however this did not happen. The last hope of all living beings has failed.
Silence. Glow.
The gods themselves were shattered in aspects of their original archetypes. The material world, the planes beyond and time-space were swept by an unprecedented force, shuffling and agglutinating the matter of the ancient universe in the process of death with the unlimited potential of the universe in birth. At the end of the incalculable expansion, the old existence did not die and a new one was not born, but everything that existed was transformed into something completely new. The tapestry of destiny has become a tangled, chaotic ball. Now all there is is the universe of Glitch Mundi, with its impossible landscapes and phenomena (considered) natural, which are, in fact, the result of anomalies and failures in the re-edition of existence during the whirlwind of genesis of the primordial capsule merging with the old universe.
Welcome to the planet of If. The impossible is just a few steps away.
